Who We Are

Woodland Advocates are woodland owners who enjoy helping other landowners find the resources and professional advice that they need to keep their woods healthy. Advocates volunteer to help their neighbors get a professional forester visit. They give personal attention to the needs of their neighbors and help answer questions. They direct woodland owners to the people, programs and products that can help them. They are a trusted neighbor whose only agenda is to help keep Wisconsin’s woodlands healthy.

Advocates volunteer their time because they believe in helping others and they have passion for woodlands. They receive reimbursement for their travel and expenses. They meet periodically with other Advocates to receive additional training and to support each other. They can help create local resources if needed by their neighbors. Advocates may share their enthusiasm about their membership in other organizations, but they do not let that enthusiasm interfere with their role as an Advocate to help keep Wisconsin’s woodlands healthy.
